This is even better than one who likes to work in the yard. There are some dishes that work as well cold as they do warm, but you're right: let's leave this one for a chilly day.

A bacon dish that does work on a hot day, though, is a BLT salad. Well, BBT, maybe. A chef friend of mine gave me the idea years ago: take the components of a BLT sandwich (bread, bacon, lettuce, and tomato), then swap out the bread with cooked orzo pasta and the lettuce with torn basil leaves. Chop the bacon and tomatoes, toss it all in a big bowl, bind with mayo or aioli, and serve it chilled. Fancy? No. But a good way to hit your daily bacon quota when the temperature's high.Matthew Rowleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00613982533349459637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6101223716619464303.post-49656783001312031362011-10-23T04:22:14.465-07:002011-10-23T04:22:14.465-07:00Yum! I'm from Australia where we have just had a hot spring day, 30 degrees celsius, and I'm adding this recipe to my winter warmers....hopefully it will be made with my partner's home made bacon.Nadenehttp://twodogsharvest.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.com
